Welcome to Philippine School (Bahrain)

The only school in the Kingdom of Bahrain offering K to 12 Philippine education curriculum to children of OFWs and the first among Philippine schools overseas to be awarded the PAASCU accreditation.

Our School

We are the only school in the Kingdom of Bahrain delivering Philippine Department of Education-approved K-12 education to the Filipino children of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the Kingdom. We hold the record of being the first Philippine school overseas that was granted accreditation by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU). We rank better than many prestigious schools in Bahrain and elsewhere around the world in local, regional and international examinations and competitions like the TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) and the World’s Scholars Cup.

Established in 1994, our school boasts of educational facilities that are purpose-built in a 26,000 square-meter campus — more than enough to accommodate our current student population of 1,000 Filipino students.

We are committed to educate and enrich our students’ knowledge, develop their understanding and appreciation of their rich cultural heritage while growing in a foreign land, and enhance their socio-emotional skills to help them cope with life’s day-to-day challenges. We are steadfast in our efforts to develop and expand the use of technology in learning and to innovate our learning methods so that even during unusually challenging times, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, we shall be able to deliver quality education.

It has been an exciting 26 years of educational excellence and we look forward to many more years of service for the children of our OFWs in the beautiful island of Bahrain.

Our Curriculum

The academic program at PSB is organized around the framework of the Philippine Basic Education Curriculum (K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum). Lessons in the different subject areas follow continuum of knowledge, concepts, skills and values development from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Bahrain History is considered a learning area and is taught in all curriculum levels as prescribed by the Bahrain Ministry of Education (MOE). It covers the Bahrain history, geography, culture, government and citizenship. Islamic Studies is also taught to students whose parents are Arab or Muslim.

The PSB curriculum is designed to meet the needs of 21st Century learners. It integrates life skills in all subject areas in the elementary grades particularly in Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao (EsP) through the Life Skills Education Program (LSEP). LSEP centers on the development of emotional intelligence and complements the homeroom program designed for all grade levels.

The school implements a curriculum prescribed by the Philippine Department of Education (DepEd) and approved by the MOE of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Kindergarten Education

Kindergarten is the initial stage of PSB education. It serves children 4 to 5 years old and organizes educational programs for Lower Kindergarten (LKG) and Higher Kindergarten (HKG) levels.  Learning experiences are designed to develop multiple intelligences and life skills.

Elementary Education

This educational stage serves students 6 to 11 years old and progresses from Grade 1 to Grade 6. PSB elementary education organizes experiences to equip children with both life and academic skills that are necessary for the holistic development of the child to prepare them for global citizenship.

Secondary Education

Secondary education serves students 12 to 18 years old and progresses from Grade 7 to Grade 12. The curriculum is designed to provide students with learning experiences that will equip them with the necessary knowledge, skills and values to prepare them for higher education and entry into the world of work. The academic programs are also designed to promote the development of self-regulated individuals who are ready to make intelligent choices and sound decisions.

Co-Curricular Activities

To enrich classroom learning, PSB also offers students additional learning opportunities through participation in subject-related clubs and special monthly activities that are organized under the guidance and supervision of teachers who serve as trainers and coaches.
